Javier Carbajo
I am a 4th generation entrepreneur with a passion for experiencing other cultures and learning and expressing myself in different languages, that has taken me from Zamora, Spain to Dallas, TX where I live now.
My grandfather used to say that if your family name is Carbajo, you must be a good person and fond of work.
I did my double BA in Business Administration between Spain, my country of origin, and France with Kedge Business School, and have had a career in Leadership Development and Coaching since 2004.
In 2009 I was lucky enough to begin working with Airbus as a subcontractor for Team Facilitation, and was able to work since then with more than 100 teams mainly in Spain, France, and the US, and also in Germany, UK, Canada and Mexico. This experience, being able to interview one to one around 1,200 Airbus employees and managers and working with them has given me a good insight about team and human dynamics. We all want to be in a team with great atmosphere and great results, even if some of us might behave in difficult ways. We have to deactivate judging others and activate appreciation and empathy.
My love for learning took me to embark recently on a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with Teeside University in the UK and other postgraduate studies.
I am passionate about consulting, coaching and learning more about Small and Medium sized businesses, where the family and the business are interconnected, and I am a board member of our family business, a flour mill in the North West of Spain, in Zamora.
I work in English, French and Spanish. In my free time I am an amateur sailor, sailboat owner, with my boat being in Lake Superior in Wisconsin, USA, and an amateur tennis player.
